Magisk, a powerful Android system modification framework, recently saw the release of a debug build (1e3edb88/28103) that appears to be causing an unexpected issue for some users. This report focuses on a case from a Pixel 8 Pro user experiencing random Zygisk disablings.
Zygisk, a core component of Magisk enabling Android modules runtime, is intermittently ceasing functionality. This manifests with an on-screen notification stating "Zygisk is not enabled. Reboot required." The user confirms a reboot temporarily fixes the problem, but the issue reemerges sporadically despite normal device usage.
Following installation of the debug build and enabling Zygisk, the user observed regular behavior until the random disabling started. Potential triggers for the issue include system sleep, context reloads, or SELinux policy updates. Crucially, the stable versions of Magisk did not exhibit this problem.
The attached 'magisk.log', captured shortly after the issue occurred, provides further insights. Modules running alongside Magisk include Google Photos Features & Unlimited Backup, iOS 17.4 Emoji Font, Play Integrity Fix, Systemless Hosts, and Zygisk - LSPosed.
