I recently decided to root my Samsung Galaxy A12 again. Unfortunately, I did this without realizing that Magisk 28.1 had been released. Following the rooting steps meticulously, I encountered a disconcerting bootloop when flashing the Magisk 28.1 patch via Odin and rebooting my device.
As a first step, I tried booting into recovery and performing a factory reset. This didn't resolve the issue. Next, I flashed the firmware again and opted to use the Magisk 28.0 patch. To my relief, this worked flawlessly, successfully rooting my device.
This experience highlights a potential significant issue for users who are new to rooting or unfamiliar with Magisk. Based on my experience, I strongly advise against upgrading to Magisk 28.1 for now, especially on the Samsung Galaxy A12.
I wanted to report this problem to the Magisk developers for further investigation and resolution.
