Currently, when users try to open a gallery/photo preview from Google Camera, it only works if they have the Google Photos app installed. If a different gallery app is present, Google Camera prompts the user that they need Google Photos to view photos and refuses to open the gallery.
This limitation restricts user choice and forces reliance on Google Photos. Users would benefit greatly if Google Camera could seamlessly integrate with any third-party gallery app they prefer.
This feature already exists in modified versions of Google Camera, such as BSG Gcam and MGC Gcam, available on websites like celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/. These modded versions allow users to select their desired gallery app.
Implementing this feature in the official Google Camera app would enhance user experience, flexibility, and choice.
